Wild Country Studios set out to market small businesses and tourism in Southwest Virginia
Back in 2008 while we were heavily into working with tourism in Giles County, Virginia, we decided that the region called Blue Ridge Highlands needed a little help in marketing.
So we designed a brand, developed a WordPress website, and started hitting the road to take photos and document all the things we thought visitors to the region would like to know about. We even published a digital newspaper via Twitter.
We met with tourism directors to form partnerships and give those which had small tourism budgets a new way to stretch their dollars.
We attended and even hosted tourism trade shows in Virginia. Handed out information from all our partners to potential visitors and generally talked up the adventure and history that the Blue Ridge Highlands offers.
We eventually changed our logo and brand to be more adventure focused considering all the natural resources the region holds. Climbing, water trails, hiking trails, lakes, waterfalls and tons of biking paths.
